Well its December again, and it’s Christmas again all around. I know it may sound like a cliche yet again, but till today I am not able to understand what significance does it play in my life? I do realize being an Indian, and specifically being a Hindu, I cannot truly appreciate the festive spirit of Christmas.
What exactly is Christmas? Every year I make it a point to visit the near Church, I light candles there. Is this Christmas? Children asking Santa for presents, or about Christmas fairy telling Santa where children live? I remember my parents used to keep a present on my side when I was a kid, so that I wake up smiling, happy, and excited.
So many, numerous movies I have seen with Christmas as their theme. According to me like every other festival this has the purpose of dissolving all animosities, make everyone cheerful yet again. Agreed, every individual has a special connotation with the season of snow and particularly Christmas but till now I haven’t been able to find my connection with the festival. Yet again, I am not happy for yet another year for yet another Christmas, but still Christmas is all around us…
