An hour,
a day,
a month,
a year…
how long must I wait
before I see your beautiful face?
A season?
Spring is coming,
and I see new green grass…
peeking from beneath the melting snow,
but no sign of you.
How long must I anticipate
your arrival?
Say you are
somewhere in my future,
and not…
something I missed
in the past.
How long must I wait
before I can cup your beautiful face
in the palms of my hands…
and profess my love to you?
I hope it won’t be…
forever
